It was a great game that I played for almost as long as Rome 1, but I didn't know people still played it.

Its pricey but if you can catch it on sale, its good Total War.

Total War is the chosen game for all these conversion mods. I never played Warhammer and stuck with Attila because I liked the historic ones. In terms of gameplay, Ttoal find that Medieval II, Rome I and to some extent Empire had the best gameplay and the best freedom in allowing you play the game how you wanted to.

Wesgeros say that Rome II is a bit odder a game than Medieval II, it has a lot more mechanics that are designed to railroad the players into playing how the developers want you to and not how you want to.
